Among exhibitors at this session of the fair, more than 4,300 are newcomers; more than 250,000 exhibits have independent intellectual property rights; and over 4,000 enterprises have won international innovation design awards.
As a key part of this session of the fair, 247 “Trade Bridge” promotional activities have been held. Of these, 232 are supply-demand matchmaking events, which have attracted 410 buyers and over 1,310 suppliers, with intended deals of $300 million reached.
“Having attended all the three phases of the fair, I completed 80 percent of my procurement tasks,” said the buyer Mikhailov, who works for a large retail supermarket in Russia. This is his eighth time participating in the fair.
“The Canton Fair is like a world-class supermarket, with multitudes of high-quality products,” Mikhailov said, adding that he will come back for every session in the future.
The Ethiopian buyer Kabbi also had a fruitful experience during the fair. “While it’s my first time to attend the fair, I am no stranger to it,” Kabbi said.
The term “Canton Fair” is well known among businesspeople in Ethiopia, he said. “Upon returning home, I will share my Canton Fair experiences with my friends and family, making them learn about China’s economic vitality.”
This session of the Canton Fair has also held import exhibitions in three phases, enabling more overseas exhibitors to access global markets.
Covering 30,000 square meters, the import exhibition has attracted 680 international companies from 50 countries and regions, including 64 percent from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
To ensure efficient payment services for foreign visitors, the fair set up eight bank service stations, nine automatic teller machines, as well as five machines for foreign currency exchange in the exhibition hall.
Currently, all restaurants, convenience stores, business service points and souvenir shops in the hall can offer multiple payment options including cash, foreign currency credit card, mobile payment and digital renminbi.
In addition, the session of the Canton Fair formed 271 groups helping participants deal with entry passes, an increase of 34 over the 134th session. Thanks to their round-the-clock services, the waiting time during peak hours has been reduced from 1.5 hours to just 30 minutes.
